Las Vegas Visitors and Domestic Violence
Many visitors are arrested for domestic violence while on vacation in Las Vegas. Most of these cases occurred in public (the Strip, downtown, in a hotel, casino, etc.) where there may be a videotapes of the incident and/or witnesses who will testify against you.
A domestic violence conviction carries very serious penalties, including a 2 day mandatory minimum jail sentence. If you did not serve 2 days in jail when you were arrested, you could be ordered to return to Las Vegas to serve an additional day or longer in jail. Further, it will be the end of a career for anyone who is required to carry a firearm for their employment.
If you were visiting Las Vegas and you were arrested for domestic violence, it is essential that you contact us as soon as possible after your arrest. Instead of waiting for charges to be filed against you, we can take immediate action to avoid having criminal charges ever filed. This means that you will legally be able to state that you have never been charged with a crime. Further, you will not be required to attend court or complete any court-ordered requirements. However, this option is only available if you take immediate action after your arrest. Call us now to discuss your options.
